Craig Holmes, 26, and Ruby Free, 23, are the heart and soul behind the new initiatives at Ballyconnelly Farm in Country Antrim.

Together they are looking to restore the farm, which has been in Craig’s family for generations, and take it in a new direction.

With the funds raised, the farm will see an expansion of regenerative agriculture, community outreach and wildlife conservation efforts.

Meet Craig and Ruby and find out more about their work at Bollyconnelly Farm.

ROriginally a dairy and produce farm, Ballyconnelly Farm has been in Craig’s family for over 200 years.

“Taking inspiration from the rich biodiversity and heritage that we’re so fortunate to have on Ballyconnelly Farm, we are striving to educate, provide access to sustainably produced food and allow people to reconnect with nature”, said Craig.

Ruby and Craig are hoping to raise £20,000 through the Aviva Wild Isles Fund. The fund launched earlier this year is aimed at helping community organisations and groups working to restore nature in their areas.

The fund will provide £2 for every £1 raised by community groups planning projects to restore nature in their areas.
