QR and the SRA

Queens Radio is part of the Student Radio Association. Connecting it with stations across the UK!

Give our Facebook page a follow for all of the updates.

What are we?

The Student Radio Association is the volunteer-run representative body which supports and acts on behalf of the UK student radio community.

We represent any radio station (including QR) that is based at, or linked to, a place of education, or that has students participating.

We hold training events, masterclasses throughout the year, alongside annual events like the SRA Conference and Awards. Many of which are in partnership with industry representatives, and spend time developing other opportunities for our stations to get involved in.

Meet your 2024/25 Regional Officer!

Hi, Iā€™m Jonathan and I am the Regional Officer for Northern Ireland. I act as the bridge between the stations in our region to other stations and the main SRA body in England, Scotland and Wales!

If you have any queries or questions give me a shout at: northernireland@studentradio.org

  • The SRA offers a range of training days and programmes which are available to all of our station members. These can range from online to in person and are usually in conjunction with big media companies like Global and the BBC.

Keep an eye on the SRA Northern Ireland Stations page on Facebook for all the details of any events coming up!

  • The Student Radio Conference happens every April and is hosted by a stations university. Last year we travelled to Leeds for the 3 day event with Keynotes, the Amplify Awards and Demo Factor, an X Factor style show where you can get live feedback from radio professionals on a radio demo!

  • The SRA Awards happen every November and are a celebration of the hard work of people like you, our members! Your Affiliated station will have more details when it comes to attending and submission of entries. It is a glam affair hosted in the o2 Arena on London's South Bank and definitely worth attending if you get the chance.
