QR Music Review: Haunted By The Amos Tree
“I’ll be right here waiting for you.”
Local indie-pop band The Amos Tree continue to make waves with their latest single, Haunted. Accompanied by a dazzling colour-soaked music video, the song is a compelling and moving hit as it tells a familiar story of romance and heartbreak.
Lead singer and songwriter Damien Brennan delivers smooth and powerful vocals, making the heartbreaking lyrics incredibly easy to listen to on repeat, unless you’re able to restrain yourself.
While listening to this song while heartbroken might bring some to tears, the warm acoustic instrumentals and the singer’s Irish lilt makes it the perfect soundtrack to a night in with friends.
The music video for Haunted, shot by Ben Canning, is a perfect counterpart to the single. Vibrant blues and purples clash with the soft hue of fairy lights to create a richly atmospheric backdrop.
The lead singer is frequently engulfed in the glow of stage lights or singing in front of a flickering projection of an old-fashioned movie countdown, giving the video an air of vintage aesthetic. Most importantly, the video captures the band doing what they do best – performing their hearts out and delivering quality indie-alt music.
