Queen’s University Belfast has confirmed that one-off cost of living payments will be made to all students on 31 January 2023.

As the University prepares itself to make the one-off payments to all students, The Scoop breaks down what you need to know about these payments.

All full-time and part-time Queen’s students who are currently enrolled in a programme of study will be entitled to receive a payment. The majority of students, including International students, will receive a payment of £150.

GB and NI students whose household income has been assessed as being below £25,000 per annum at the time of applying for student finance for the current academic year, will receive a one-off payment of £400.

Students who are registered with Student Finance NI, England, Wales, or Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) for maintenance funding will be paid directly into this same account.

The University has confirmed that students not meeting the above criteria have been contacted to confirm account details. If you meet these criteria but have not been contacted you can obtain clarification from studentfinance@qub.ac.uk

Students who are also employed by the University will receive only one payment at the rates for students.

Further information on the payments is available here
